Francis chan where is he now

We had each been leading one church in each of our homes, but then, suddenly we learned that we had to leave the country. Chan revealed that he is most concerned that the new church leaders and members can gather in a secure place, China Aid reports. Prior to leaving Hong Kong, Chan informed the young men they worked with that Justin, Peter, and he had to leave and asked them, "Are you guys ready? He explained to members of his house church that when the Apostle Paul traveled to a city, he stayed for weeks to serve those who were unaware of "Jesus", but then had to leave.

The evangelist recalled that the church members in the New Testament had no Bibles or resources, but they were able to plant a powerful church through the Holy Spirit. Although I believe God is having me go back to the U. And so, I'm going to go with the power of the Spirit. We've got this. I've got more sources for equipping than the early church did. I have so many resources online, so much knowledge available.

I have the Scriptures right before me, a huge advantage. Additionally, C han is uncertain if Hong Kong's current government, which is heavily influenced by the Chinese Communist Party, will permit his return.

Dependence on religious leaders, according to Chan, is why people are turning away, squabbling with each other, and being so opinionated about everything, Christian Post noted. Not surprisingly, Chan addressed the Exponential Reset Summit with a call to sacredness and a return to worship. He says this is vital, especially in light of many high-profile Christians leaving the church in the past months. Charisma quoted him as saying:.

And I just think that's crazy. We're seeing people that we look up to, leaders, fall. We're seeing the world look at evangelical Christianity as an absolute joke right now. Every day you can just jump on Instagram Chan believes that many have fallen into the "trap" described in Isaiah , which portrays individuals within churches and religious groups whose dedication is superficial and whose worship is only lip service to God.

He went on to say that these people's worship is based only on human standards. We do this by asking questions and seeking answers. Chan: Many of us were taught what we believe to be the truth by people who loved us — pastors, parents, friends.

In many instances, these are the people who led us to a real relationship with God. Because their messages or discipleship changed our lives, we feel a natural trust for and loyalty to their positions on most issues. Our Sunday Visitor: In that same discussion with Mr. Hanegraaff, you mention that your journey to discover what is true has led you to question your own beliefs on whether or not the bread and wine are symbols or whether they are truly the body and blood of Christ.

And to me, everything else is heresy. I hate division, and the mere questioning has caused so much infighting. So honestly, any personal fulfilment has been largely usurped by the burden I feel about that. The whole experience has made me feel more urgently than ever the need to address the division that is rife in the Church today, so for that I am grateful.

I have also had some wonderful times celebrating the body and blood of Christ, though. Our Sunday Visitor: In your sermon that went viral last year, your passion for Christian unity was clear. Where did this desire come from, and what is the one thing that you would suggest Christians do to begin walking a path to oneness?

Chan: The Scriptures are so clear: God wants his children to live as one. The New Testament is full of commands to love each other deeply. The first steps we need to take are to worship our Savior together. Start with where we agree: We agree with all of the saints and angels that God is holy and that Jesus is worthy to be praised. How did this pairing come about? What are you hoping to impart to these young Catholic men and women, and also, what also are you hoping to take away from this opportunity as you continue your own faith journey?

Chan: Recently, I have had more opportunities to fellowship with Catholics who love the Gospel. I believe it honors God when we humbly seek his truth together. My hope is that it encourages more people to study the Bible together, regardless of labels.

Chan: By the grace of God, my life has been good beyond imagination. While I have failed in so many ways, one of the few good things I have done is to seek him — not just seek religion or empty works. I believe I was created in his image, made to know him deeply. I have been stunned over and over by the way that he answers my prayers.
